Blydesign was founded by designer, Katherine Bly Cromer. With a background in classical piano, Katherine has always had an artistic, creative spirit. She discovered her passion for jewelry design after coming across some old, chandelier crystals in her late Grandmother's house. She was struck by the beauty of each crystal and yearned to create a necklace that would keep one of the crystals close to her heart. Over the years, Katherine began refining her techniques in metal work and was overwhelmed by the response to her vintage and modern designs. Cromer launched Blydesign in 2009 as a way to make her pieces accessible to her fans. Each piece of jewelry is carefully, handcrafted and distributed by Katherine in her hometown studio located in Charlotte, NC. Some of her favorite materials to incorporate into her designs are agate, pyrite, quartz, vermeil as well as vintage elements.
